How the work actually goes
You describe what the car is doing. We look at it, find the cause, and tell you what we found in language you can repeat to somebody else. Then you get a price before any work starts.
That order matters. A shop that quotes a repair before diagnosing one is guessing, and you are the one who pays for the guess. Diagnosis first is slower to sell and cheaper to own.
Nothing gets done without your approval. If we open something up and find a second problem, the car stops and we call you. You decide what happens next, including deciding to do nothing.
What we work on
Everything from an oil change to internal engine and transmission work, on all makes and models, domestic and import. We use Snap-on, Mac and OTC scan tools for diagnosis, and OEM or OEM equivalent parts unless you ask for something else.
Some jobs belong at a dealer. When yours is one of them, we will say so.
Why east end Ottawa matters
Being on Blackwell Street means we are a short drive for Gloucester, Blackburn Hamlet, Beacon Hill, Alta Vista, Cyrville and Orleans, and a reasonable one from the Quebec side over the Macdonald Cartier bridge.
It also means we are honest about distance. If you are in Kanata or Barrhaven, that is a cross city drive and a shop closer to you will probably serve you better. We would rather say that than waste your morning.
Ottawa is hard on cars in specific ways. Road salt rots brake lines and exhaust from underneath. March and April potholes bend rims and knock out alignment. Cold snaps expose a weak battery you have been getting away with since August. Those are the jobs we see most, because they are the jobs this city creates.

Where is On The Run Auto Care?
2535 Blackwell Street, Suite 12, Ottawa, ON K1B 4E4. That is the Sheffield Glen industrial area in the east end, close to Innes Road and the 417, which puts us near Gloucester, Blackburn Hamlet, Beacon Hill and Orleans.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. We are closed Saturday and Sunday. If you need to reach us outside those hours, book online and we will confirm when we open.
Do you work on my make of car?
We service all makes and models, domestic and import. If a job needs a dealer only tool or a manufacturer specific procedure we do not have, we will tell you that instead of guessing at it.
Do you serve Gatineau and Aylmer?
Yes. A Quebec plated car being repaired or maintained at an Ontario shop is completely ordinary. Anything tied to Quebec registration or a Quebec mechanical inspection has to stay on the Quebec side, and we will tell you when that is the case.
